The 2022 Outlander launch was a huge moment for Mitsubishi Motors and the culmination of 18 months of work to reposition the brand and establish it in the CUV competitor set.

But in a sea of commercials that all looked the same, we decided to quit the process and showcase a CUV firmly shaped around the lives of the drivers and passengers. Creating a bold vision with a more human feel, we invited the audience to ‘Get into Out’ in the Outlander with us - showcasing the car as the perfect CUV to take you from inside the city to out on a journey that turned the car inside out. 

Directing a large-scale remote shoot during a pandemic, across multiple time zones, the ad campaign was produced between LA and London, and embraced pioneering virtual production for the first time with an automotive brand. This allowed us to create a seamless one-shot sequence that travelled around the car and our cast in a way that wouldn’t have been possible on the road - delivering a global TV campaign that doesn’t look or feel like a traditional car commercial and allowing Mitsubishi to visually cut through the familiarity of their competition.
